Terms of participation
Draft for legal review. Everything marked [TO FILL] must be completed before these terms are used.
These terms apply between you and [TO FILL: legal name of the organiser], [TO FILL: address] ("we"), when you buy and use a pass for Open Source Village, [TO FILL: dates and place of the event].
Passes
- Passes are sold by invitation. An invite link works once and expires.
- There are three passes: a day pass (one day), a week pass (seven days) and full access (the whole event). Prices are shown on the invite page before you pay; companies pay the company price. [TO FILL: whether prices include VAT.]
- A pass is personal. You may not give, lend or sell it to someone else. [TO FILL: whether a pass can be transferred to another person on request, and how.]
- The pass becomes valid when your payment has been received. Its dates are shown in your activation e-mail and on your account page.
- At the door you show your pass, either from an EUDI wallet or as the QR code at
pass.<domain>/me. The code renews every 30 seconds and each code stops working after 90 seconds, so a screenshot cannot be passed on.
Your account and the apps
- With your pass you get an account and access to the community apps (chat, calendar, polls, directory, marketplace, photos, wallet). They are provided during the event and for [TO FILL: period after the event], without guarantee that they are available at all times.
- You sign in with a link sent to your e-mail address or with your pass. Keep access to that mailbox; do not forward sign-in links.
- We hold your Nostr key for you unless you take it into your own custody. If you do, you are responsible for it: we cannot recover a key you hold yourself.
- What you post is your responsibility. The community rules apply to everything you post and do in the apps and at the event.
Village tokens
Every pass brings village tokens (50 per pass day). They are a game: they have no money value, cannot be bought or exchanged for money, and expire when the event's services are turned off. We do not replace tokens that are lost, sent to the wrong person or spent on an offer that was not delivered.
The marketplace
Offers in the marketplace are made by participants, not by us. Agreements about an offer are between the participants involved. We do not check offers, are not a party to them and are not responsible for their delivery or quality. [TO FILL: rules for offers involving real money or goods that require a licence.]
Cancelling, refunds, and ending a pass
- Refunds are described in the refund policy.
- We may revoke a pass, without refund, if its holder seriously or repeatedly breaks the community rules, or if the payment is reversed (for example a card chargeback). [TO FILL: the steps before a revocation, e.g. a warning, and how to appeal.]
- When a pass ends, its account can no longer sign in to the apps, and the pass in the wallet and on the phone stops working.
Changes to the event
[TO FILL: what happens if the event is moved, shortened or cancelled, and liability for it.]
Liability
[TO FILL: limitation of liability, as permitted by the applicable law.]
Privacy
How we handle your data is described in the privacy notice.
Law and disputes
[TO FILL: applicable law, place of jurisdiction, consumer dispute resolution information.]
